Resumen:
La siguiente reflexión reúne la historia centroamericana, sus relaciones con el resto del mundo. Destaca además los esfuerzos realizados históricamente con el objetivo de lograr la unión definitiva de los países que componen el Istmo. Señala también la forma en que el comercio y el turismo han sido aliados de dicha intención; al igual que han ayudado en los intentos y consolidación de otros bloques. El artículo recalcará la importancia de que estén presentes todos los elementos del Sistema Turístico, para que pueda existir una verdadera Geografía Turística Centroamericana; esboza una remembranza de las acciones oficiales, para reunir los elementos del Sistema Turístico. Finalmente, se detiene en la parte relacionada con la educación del profesional en turismo que requiere el nuevo panorama geográfico, los esfuerzos que deben realizar los académicos para que la educación sea un punto fuerte dentro de esa unión, esa nueva geografía y esa nueva cultura que derivará de tal anhelo.
Abstract:
The following reflection joins the Central America history, and its relation with the rest of the world. It shows the efforts done throw the history with the objective to get definitely the Union between all the countries of the Isthmus. It shows too how the commerce and tourism, have been heralds in this Union, as well as, they have made in the Union of other countries associations. The article emphasizes in the prescience of all components of Tourism System, before to assure that exists a real Central America Tourism Geography, it makes an historic review by the official actions, to find all the Tourism System Elements. Finally it accentuates in the kind of education that new tourism vision and new employees must have, new goals according the new times, new Geographic Horizons, the efforts that will be done by academics, to get a stronger tourism education in this new Geography, in this new culture that will take place.
